What are the platform's system requirements?

A current browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) with activated JavaScript and cookies is required to use the finpair platform. In addition, additional software is required, for example, to use files from the data room (for example to display PDF files or office documents).

Mobile devices are currently not supported.

Should it be temporarily impossible to use the platform as a result of an emergency-related business interruption, we can still be reached by email or telephone. Users who are affected by an acute disorder will be informed by finpair about the specific situation and appropriate measures to deal with it.

What are the password requirements and how often does it have to be changed?

We are convinced that long passwords are more secure than shorter ones. If you use long passwords, you don't need any special cryptic characters for a high level of security. In addition, studies have shown that regular password changes do not increase security because people usually assign passwords using a recurring pattern.

Therefore, finpair only requires a minimum length of 8 characters when assigning your password. However, we will show you an indicator of the strength of your password. Only be satisfied with a top rating!

PS: You can really secure your access if you register a second factor in addition to your long password. You can set this in your user profile on the platform.

Who is the operator of the platform?

finpair is responsible for operating the finpair platform and is therefore your direct and only contact partner. As a technical infrastructure, we use the Google Cloud Platform, which is operated and managed by Google.

Contact person - Do I only use the platform functions at finpair or do I also have a contact person?

Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool. But not the solution for everything. That's why at finpair you don't talk to machines, but to people. Each transaction is personally supervised by a finpair expert, who can be reached by telephone or e-mail for all questions and requests.

The Multi-Investor feature makes it possible to manage the portfolio for several companies and place orders for a new issue.

What are the different rights of an investor?

Default permission

Standard authorizations grant reading rights appropriate to the investor role. No legally binding actions can be carried out. However, it is possible to submit a non-binding soft order.

Authorized signatory “signer”

This additional right makes it possible to submit legally binding declarations for your company. For investors, this is the right to place and confirm company orders on a four-eye basis and to deposit settlement accounts.

The additional right is marked with the “SIGNER” mark in the company profile with an orange background.

Company administrator “Admin”

This additional right makes it possible to invite other users of your company to the platform, block or unblock existing users, grant additional “company administrator” and “signatory” rights, and maintain e-mail settings.

finpair distinguishes between the two groups “issuer” and “investor”.

A user account is assigned to the main role “Issuer” or “Investor” by a finpair employee as part of the onboarding process.

Even before signing a framework agreement with finpair, you can register as an investor to get light access to the platform and the onboarding process. Of course, you can also ask yourself any questions before registering via email contact us.

In addition, the relevant documents are available to you in your data room in the company profile even after signing the framework agreement. Please note that confidential security-related concepts are only provided upon request. You can also do this after the onboarding process described above via email request.

Costs - What does it cost to use the platform?

The platform is free to use for investors. This includes both light access to the platform and full access to all technical components, which requires the conclusion of a framework agreement for the use of the platform. Issuers pay a fee to carry out a transaction as well as ongoing commissions for using agency services.

Can I use two-factor authentication?

Yes, that is possible and we strongly recommend this additional security, as it provides effective protection even if the password is lost. You can activate two-factor authentication in your user profile directly on the platform. Further information can be found in your data room under finpair Documents > Manuals.

Is finpair safe?

The security of our systems is of fundamental importance to us. However, the threat situation is constantly changing and invulnerability is therefore an unachievable goal. But you can reduce the attack surface and thus significantly reduce the risk of a security incident.

At finpair, we are therefore constantly optimising our systems, guided by recognized principles such as the principle of minimalism in granting authorizations, frequent automated patch management or machine scans of dependencies. A company-wide exchange on current security gaps, phishing emails or other threats ensures that the entire team is aware of IT security issues in order to also consider the human factor in protecting against attacks.

Users - Who can use finpair?

The platform is only available to private sector companies or companies with municipal shareholders, which allow unsecured financing starting at tens of millions of euros. Financing partners (investors) must be subject to government financial supervision, banking supervision or insurance supervision and be based in a member state of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), the United Kingdom or Switzerland (in short, banks and savings banks, asset management companies and insurance companies, and pension funds).

Who manages users and rights?

After concluding the framework agreement, a company administrator can assign rights for his own company (signer or administrative rights), create or deactivate users, and maintain users' e-mail settings.

Where are payments processed?

finpair does not process any payment flows. Our task is to structure, market and support an issue over the entire life cycle. To process payments, we work with a credit institution for every issue, which takes on the function of paying agent. The paying agent receives all relevant information from us regarding investments, amounts, accounts and contractual transaction details.

Which providers hold the data from finpair?

The data generated by using the platform operated by finpair is always stored in Google data centers within the EU (preferably in Germany). In addition, finpair uses Microsoft365 for email and office products. The resulting data is stored in Microsoft data centers within the EU.
