Both in terms of number of transactions and volume, the Schuldschein loan market is below the previous year's level. However, there is a positive trend — around 17 transactions are currently being marketed, which suggests a good outlook for the second half of the year. The steady growth of sustainable finance transactions remains positive.
With a volume of around €7 billion and 56 transactions, the market level is still below the previous year. This is due, among other things, to the currently interesting bond markets and continued high liquidity on the issuer side. Interest margins have returned to pre-pandemic levels in some cases. The average margin is around 130 bps (running time 5 years).
One factor remains particularly interesting: green Schuldschein loan. Some of the legal acts already adopted under the “European Green Deal” have not yet been fully completed in their interpretation for certain economic activities. Nevertheless, there is sufficient legal certainty in many aspects of the so-called EU taxonomy, so that more and more issuers are incorporating sustainable elements into their financing. As a result, 8 transactions related to Green or ESG were placed, which amounted to a total of €655 million.
finpair was able to expand its market share for digital transactions to around 40%. In total, around half of the transactions were digitally accompanied.
