When we decided as part of our sustainability strategy that we would plant trees to reduce our CO2 footprint, the question was how we could implement this.
Forest owners have been asking themselves for years what tree species will have in the future. We have obtained support from the Brammer family's forest company and the forester Karl-Heinz Dose. To defy the consequences of climate change, we have opted for silver firs, red oaks and sweet chestnuts. This is because tree species are selected based on soil conditions and weather conditions. Silver fir is a native conifer species; it grows in depth for the first five years and is therefore less susceptible to short-term drought. The same goes for sweet chestnuts and red oak — they are more resistant to climate.
On 03.12. the entire finpair team, after a brief introduction from Mr. Dose, started the joint planting campaign. After about four hours, it was done. All trees were planted! We are excited about the next few years and are happy that we can visit our trees there at any time. It is important to us not only to plant a symbolic tree, but also to bring such a project to life.
With this campaign, we want to make our business activities ecologically and sustainable, as well as to raise awareness of more climate protection. For us, sustainable corporate success and a sustainable environment are in harmony.
